Pipeline
This one is controversial. For social, environmental, political, and economic reasons, people come down in radically different places on the issue of using or not using oil, other fossil fuels, and their extraction, transportation, distribution, etc. Some individuals may feel perfectly fine with playing a game that simulates oil pipelines, while others may feel weird about it. Anyway, if you do like the artwork and mechanics, maybe just pretend these pipes are transporting chocolate like in Willy Wonka’s factory? Who doesn’t love pipes transporting liquid chocolate? Well, maybe not Augustus Gloop. It didn’t work out so well for him. But I digress. Listen here, game designers: a game about exploring the pipelines and darkest depths of Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory sounds amazing. I digress, again. Until that game comes out, check out Pete’s unboxing of Pipeline (2019), designed by Ryan Courtney, illustrated by Ian O'Toole, and published by Capstone Games. Political, social, environmental, and economic leanings aside, this is a game of tile placement and economic decisions.
